Great Aussie Caravans

76tourin update us on their Big Lap: Cape York Trip

Cape York is now ticked off our bucket list. We made it to the tip of Australia along with making the most amazing memories.

We began our Cape trip with the intention of not doing the Old Tele Track. However, we met some great likeminded people while camping at Coen that let us tag along with them for the track. We then spent just over a week with them unintentionally making memories that will last a lifetime.

We completed the Tele Track over the course of 2 days. There were a lot of water crossings and a lot of 4wdriving. It was definitely a big 2 days on the track but the feeling of accomplishment and the celebration drinks after made it worth it.

The Falls are unreal and are worth the visit. We did Elliot Falls and Twin Falls in one day.

Before continuing with the caravan making our way to the Tip of Australia We crossed the Jardine and spent a few days at Seisia. A lot of fishing and repairs to vehicles was happening at our campground.

We then continued to Punsand Bay where we set up for a night and made our way to the Tip of Australia. Got a picture with the sign along with our pup Otis.

We made our way back down with some car troubles along the way, but we were so excited to get out of the red dust. We were looking forward to giving everything a clean out. Red dust was embedded everywhere! We are so impressed with the dust reduction system and so glad we got it installed on our van. Was definitely peace of mind knowing that we could just go straight into the van and have no dust to worry about inside the van.

We saved the best Falls to last (in our opinion) Fruit Bat falls. We ended up getting the falls to ourselves and it felt so rewarding and refreshing to be able to go swimming and get a week’s worth of red dust off ourselves.

We definitely made some lifelong memories from our Cape trip!

We’re looking forward to the NT…..
